Ping problem

Hi,

I have the following problem with my network


When i use ping on locahost it doesn't work:

 ping localhost

...gives me a "unknown host: locahost"

 ping 127.0.0.1

...works!!!


However in my /etc/hosts i have:

127.0.0.1       locahost
194.72.72.1     haplo

And 'ping haplo' works...


This problem seems to affect xemacs since i
have to wait more than one minute to launch it...

What should i do (or not do :) )???
