The command 'who' shows you who is logged on at the presant time, you can
check /var/log/syslog or var/adm/syslog to see who logged on in the past,
/var/log or /var/adm  are system spesific. Possably check also
/var/log/messages.

/etc/syslog.conf will show which file what messages are sent to.
