This method is not recomended, in certain case's you could lock yourself out
by a false entry in the file you changed, the senario would be you as a user
on a remote machine, (not having root privaliges) change a file log out and
login again op new only to find that you are not able to logon again because
you made a bad change to some file, always execute the file FIRST before
logging out, at least you will have more chance to "undo" the wrong you had
done, without having to beg the system operator for help.

Another senario would be 'root' only logged in on one console, he changes
one file or other be it /etc/profile or some rc script for booting, he now
logs out and backin again, only to find he cant.

Of course my explanation above is extream, but it has happend to me, so you
dont have to heed to someone else's warnings, find out yourself the hard
way.

In the archives at;
http://www.findmail.com/listsaver/linux-newbie/info.html
there are mails from unsuspecting linux-uers who have had this problem.

Be warned.
