hmm, oops! ignore the previous post, guess i didn't RTFM :) (forget the newbies,
its the people who know what they're doing who need helping :)
what is needed is some sort of 'essential commands' instructions. Ie, newbie
finds these faqs (by pure chance they once used dos and tried the cd command
to change dirs, and worked out the \'s go the other way) but what is a .gz
file? how do i read text in linux anyway? where's the editor, what's a .tgz
and why does tar complain i have no tape drive? these are the basic things
_every_ linux user needs to know. Another one is "why can't i run my dos
programs?"
