Ok, here's my situation:

Two machines:
 1) AMD-K6-300 dual Boot: Win 98 (For gaming)
                           Linux (for everything else)

 2) 486-66 Linux only: Firewall (?)
                       FTP space (not anonymous-ftp. I don't
                                  wanna piss off my ISP)
                       Web Server

I will soon be getting a cable modem through Media One.
Unfortunately, Media One does not support home networking,
(they assign you only one IP address.)
However, they said they don't care if you use IP Masq.,
but provide no support for it.

Ideally, I would Like to do something like this:

(Internet)-------(i486 Linux)--------(AMD-K6 Dual Boot)
           Cable Ethernet

My questions:

Since I would like to play Quake (Windows Version) on the
K6, I am concerned about the IP Masq. Will the IP Masq cause
a problem connecting with Quake servers via QuakeWorld?
(Yes, I am aware that this is NOT a linux issue. But I am
concerned with the limits of IP Masq)

My second question is regarding firewalls. Specificly,
is it possible to set up a firewall that will allow SOME
tyoes of inbound connections (such as ftp or http) and
disallow others (such as remote logins)? My 486 is low on
HD space.

Thanks alot,
        Bryan Scaringe
