This is possably caused by a LCK file from some process concerning netscape,
try 'locate LCK' to see if there is a stale lock file after netscape has
died.
Why does netscape die anyway, does it die while loading a page from a
remote host.??
I am by no means a X expert, but contrary to public belife netscape should
not just bum out, there is always a reason and mostly thats caused either by
a misconfiguration, lack of one or another library, or no LD_PRELOAD= path
set.

Hope this helps.
