ttysN error

Hi,

I just installed slackware 3.5 kernal2.0.34. When I execute setserial -bg
/dev/ttysN, I receive the following error: "/dev/ttysN i/o error" Can
someone point me in the right direction to resolve this error, so I can
setup my ISDN TA to use this port.
