Has anyone had luck setting up Samba with RedHat 5.2? I have made
changes to /etc/smb.conf and managed to get my linux box to show up in
the Win95 and WinNT Network Neighborhoods, but when I click on it (from
either box) I get the error: "\\LinuxServer is not accessible. The network
path was not found." I have an NT domain (single server acting as PDC),
but the Linux box is correctly displayed under the domain, right next to the
real NT Server. I never get a prompt for a username or password. I can
ping every box from any other box. Since I have a small network (3
computers) I am not implementing WINS on either NT or Linux. I am not
trying to set it up as a PDC or BDC, just as a member server in the NT
domain. I have enabled some shares and made them browseable. I have
created a guest account. I have not set up lmhost files on any box, but
won't broadcasts take care of that? I would like to just use the Linux
accounts to login to the Linux box, and worry about username and
password synchronization with NT later.

I have read just about every doc I could find, but I still can't get it to work. I
must be missing something silly. Anybody have a clue to what the problem
is? Thanks.

Michael
