Hello all, brand new newbie walking in.
I am using kernel 2.2.0 and playing with the GUI KDE. And trying to get
kppp to work.
Anybody know what would cause "setting modem speaker" to be displayed
for several mins.
while the log sits there waiting for an OK.
I have tried some many various settings and it still does the same
thing, (or nothing pending on the setting).
The only error I get is when I start kppp up it tells me that pppd is
not installed correctly and
I must install it with SUID.
Now being new to this I am unfamiliar with that term or how to do it.
What must I do to install ppp/pppd with SUID 'on'.
And where is the default dir for the kde home directory???
