This is a two parter

First off I would like to thank you all for being so helpful

1. My mother board supports Advanced Power Management and I would like to know
if it is possible to "completely" shut the computer down. Meaning, is there a
command that will shut down Linux and than turn off my computer.

I have tried "halt -p" and "poweroff" they both do not turn off my computer.

2. Is there a way I can find out what was compiled in to my current kernel.
I am using RH 5.0 and upgraded to 5.2.

Thanks
Will
