USB Support?

Are there plans to support USB in Linux or is it in the 2.2 kernal?  All
these Pentium machines out here have USB boards and since in theroy it
is easy to write drivers for USB devices and there are more and more USB
devices coming out.  I think it would be a great hardware boost for
Linux.
