Sorry I don't know which list would be apropriate for a question like this.
So, I would also be greatful for a link to another list or docu.
Here is the problem:

I wan't to drive some selfmade hardware through one of my LPT ports.
But I could not find any info on how you could do this in linux. I don't
want to establish a handshake protocol, so I think I won't be able to "just
use /dev/lp?". C-software that is driving the Hardware could be run by
root. No problem ;-). So how could I access the LPT registers directly?
Any hints?
