Personally, I would use linux.
I think it is undisputed (except by M$) that linux is more stable, and in
most cases faster than NT. Securitywise, neither is perfect. However,
when bugs are found in linux software they are usually fixed within a
week. When bugs are found in windows, the fix often takes several
months.
