I run Zipslack (derived from Slackware 3.5 in my case), and while I have
never tried to compile Wine, I also have never seen anything "normal"
slackware can do that Zipslack cannot also do.  I don't believe, although I
could be wrong, that UMSDOS should have anything to do with the compile
problems.
