CD-R(RW)

hi.  i have a philips 3610 ide cd -rw.   I was wondering if anyone knew of a
good cd-r program that doesnt require scsi support.  i have tried
xcdroast,and was unable to get it working even after i recompiled my kernel
to include all the scsi stuff.  thanks
