Block/character major

Hi folks:
        I have seen several questions regarding block and character major aliases
and what they are.  I extracted this list from the /etc/conf.modules in my
SuSE 6.1 setup which shows what some of them are, at least on my system.  I
don't think these would change with distros, any confirmation/refutation on
that?
