Well, everything seems to work now, and it all seems rather obvious in
hindsight. The one remaining problem is that it says "cannot find
modules.dep" when booting, but since I don't have any modules, I'm not too
concerned. I'll just wait for make dep (i think :) to fix that on my next
kernel compile.
