I don't have actual experience with the card or shipset, but info at
www.xfree86.org may be of some help.
On the list of supported cards (http://www.xfree86.org/cardlist.html), there
are two entries that may be of help:
1. S3 Savage3D ............................................ XF86_VGA16
2. ViewTop PCI ............................................ XF86_SVGA
If you have to follow the first recommendation, that is bad news, since the
VGA16 server supports only 640*480 in 16 colors (you won't like it). For the
second, I don't know if this is your card or not, but if it is, SVGA isn't
bad at all.
SOme (all?) versions of RH 5.2 come with an out-of-date version of X. You
wan the current one, 3.3.3.1. If it's not what you have, download
instructions can also be found at the xfree86 site.
