that's very expensive.  it might be worth it to see if the mb is
upgradable. unless that's just financially infeasible.  it sounds as if
any option is going to cost something more than it's worth it to
implement.  but, that's IMHO.  I found myself in the same situation a
while back and opted for just replacing the older machine.  funny thing is
that when I bought a new mb, case and swapped all my hd's and video card
into the new machine, I still had a perfectly working machine that I gave
to my local school who more than appreciated it.
