Hello,

I have now managed to get Linux to send and receive PINGS from my local network in the
home.

I have 4 computers.......

P200 MMX - WIN96 - 192.168.0.1

486DX2-66 Linux RedHat5.2 - 192.168.0.2

386SX25 - WFWG - 192.168.0.3

486DX33 - Win95 - 192.168.0.4

I can ping the linux box and get replies, I can ping from the linux box and get
replies.

But should I telnet to the linux box from any system, as root, with correct
password, yes it is
correct, all I get is

login incorrect

& then the login: prompt again.

The install is "Install everything" but I leftout the non english How-Tos and other
docs.

And then let redhat do the rest.

What do I need to do to enable me to get full tcp/ip suite across my ethernet??

Also, the P200MMX system has a PPPsharing program to allow internet access from any
computer in the network (proxy server) and I would like to get linux running across
this as well.

Hope you can assist.

I am not frightened to compile and install a new kernel if you think I need to include
something.

regards

Mark
