Hey!
Thanks for the info. lawson_whitney. It seems that I may actually need
glibc-devel!
I mentioned earlier that I am trying to set this up on a laptop. Here is
the status of my hard drive free space:
[root@localhost /root]# df
Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda2 509340 477525 5507 99% /
/dev/hda1 255732 224816 30916 88% /mnt/dos
[root@localhost /root]# rpm -i
/mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/glibc-devel-2.1.1-6.i386.rpm
error: installing package glibc-devel-2.1.1-6 needs 29M on the /
filesystem
I guess there's no better time like the present to wean myself from windoze?!
Seriously, does anyone have any tips as to how I might actually create some
more free space on my hda2? I already rm'd the /usr/docs/LPD, HOWTO and
HTML contents, which must've saved me about 7 or 8 Mbytes. I'm all ears as
to how I might free more space.
Maybe I could delete the kernel source files just until after I've
installed the glibc-devel package? Or will I need the whole 29M for the
package (not just during install?)
getting closer...
