Sometimes (I cannot find a pattern) I try to connect to my ISP and, while my modem is negotiating, connection suddenly hangs once and again. I tried raising timeout in my chat's file to 120 (seconds) but modem hangs connection before 20 secs. Also tried adding option "chat -t 120 -f $HOME/chatscript" but modem still hangs and I need to REBOOT or connecting to my ISP with minicom and quit without resetting modem. Then my modem waits for negotiation and I get connected. Is there some kind of option to pppd (i guess it's a pppd problem and NOT a chat one) to "reset(?)" my modem on the fly, so it waits as much as I need to connect? TIA. -- J. M. Albores
