Did you also get xemacs-21.1.7-elc.tar.gz and
xemacs-21.1.7-info.tar.gz as well?

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the output of configure.

Okay, xpm-button-create is mentioned in these files:
/usr/local/lib/xemacs-21.1.7/lisp/xpm-button.el
/usr/local/lib/xemacs-21.1.7/lisp/gui.el

I can't think why it is playing up from a clean install. You haven't
got an older version laying around somewhere that is still mentioned
in your ~/.emacs file have you?

If you can't figure out what's going on send me a private email and
I'll send you copies of those files. (I checked here and all the
toolbar items and menu items work fine for me).

Sorry I haven't been of much help. But persevere, XEmacs really is
worth it. There is just no way I could live without it now, it's way
too valuable to me.
