Hello,
I am trying to install NIST Net (www.nist.gov)
on a system running
Red Hat. This is a freeware package for emulating
performance dynamics
in IP networks. I untarred tnd unzipped the source
files.
While installing the usable kernel,I run into
problems..specifically, when
I type:
make config

I get:
make:*** No rule to make target 'config'. Stop

Same message if I do a "make install". What does
this message mean?
I looked through the man pages as well as the online
FAQs. I am under the
impression that it has to do something with the
specifications in the Makefile.
But I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
All help greatly appreciated....sorry for what might
be a simple question (I am
new to Linux).
Thanks!
- Nihal

P.S. I believe the OS kernel version is 2.2.5-15 (at
least that's what shows in
the "uname -a").
