I'm not quite sure what you're after though.
The samba list is more like the linux-kernel list and can be
quit technical at times. I hope you don't get too much of the RTFM
mentality there, but we do expect that you've done your homework.
Advanced questions that we wouldn't have expected someone to work out
for themselves do tend to get more attention than "how do I configure
Samba" questions. Since several of the team members have written books
(John Blair's is excellent and there is a Sam's "Teach Yourself Samba
in 24 Hours" book out there) we hope that most people have made the
effort to cover the simple stuff so we can concentrate on the wacko
things as they come up in the development process.
There isn't a Samba-newbie list, though. If you can't get it
answered on the samba list and you can't get it answered on an appropriate
linux list, then either no-one has a clue what you are up to or they figure
you should have worked it out from material that's already out there.
