I have a acript that adds a user. However, the -p option is not encrypting the password. it is putting the clear text in the /etc/shadow file. i.e: newuser:mom!iscool:...:... etc so, mom!iscool is the passwd, not the encrypted passwd. So, two questions: 1) is there a way to add the user and passwd all at once? or 2) how do I encrypt the passwds with the shadow algorhytm and just feed the encrypted passwd with -p? I am running RH60 straight from the disk. I am not familiar with shadow info so If you need any more info just ask! Thankyou David
