What is the name of your tar ball? A normal tar-file should be named something
like xxxx.tar
My Star Office 5.0 is SO50_01.tar and I untar it with tar -xvf SO50_01.tar

Subject: how to "untar" a file
Hi folks,
I've downloaded Star Office and I'm trying to load it but having no
success. It a tar file and I'm typing tar -xv <filename>.tr, when I then
press the enter key, nothing happens. Can someone tell me what I'm
doing wrong?
