I would use fdisk. This will enable you to set the swap file system type on your partition (83 i think) Use the setup disk for red hat and you will be given the fdisk option early on in the install. dave > I tried toformat that partition it only gave me the EXT2 option, no Swap option > was given. This partition starts at 1023
