After installing Red Hat 6.1 I can't seem to get a local printer to
work. I had no problem with RH 5.2.

Printtool can't detect a printer on lp0, lp1, or lp2. I had a Canon
BJC-2000 connected when I did the install, and after having no luck
getting that to print, I connected my Panasonic KX-P2123 which
worked with RH 5.2. Printtool still doesn't detect the printer and
gives the error "/dev/lp1"no such device when I try to test print
directly to the port. /dev/lp1 exists. lpc status lp shows the queue
is enabled, printing enabled but waiting for the printer to become
available (offline ?). The printer is online and prints from DOS. I
thought printool was supposed to make this easy! It did with RH
5.2, what's different with RH6.1? I did try lp0, lp1 and lp2 with the
same results. Help!
