Well, I' ve had the same problem with RH6.1 and I solved it putting some
configuration parameters in
/etc/conf.modules
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
options parport_pc io=0x378,0x278 irq=7,auto
of course you have to put your real addresses and IRQ in option
after doing this you should see your first printer as lp0 and _NOT_ as lp1 as
was in older linux distributions.
