You can do the following  (need to be root):

cd /usr/src/linux

make oldconfig > old-settings

now you can examine the text file "old-settings" which contains info on the
running kernel.

I am running RH 6.0 with the stock kernal. I wanted to get my SCSi CD-R
working, and the docs say you need this and that support compiled into
the kernel. How can I find out what support is in my kernel so I can
determine if I need to compile a new one, or if the existing one is OK.
