Well i cant say your wrong about people you know, but i can say you
wrong about NOT having to use dhcp, we do over here in Europe, at
least with the providers in this country you do.

Of course if you have a static IP address the situation changes one
hell of a lot.

Bah!, when i started using linux there was only fvwm and very little
software that ran under X. I still prefer to teach my friends command
mode, which means they know what to do when there is a problem.

The newer distro's are becomming to much like windows, we install you
use period.

Now i might be an old stick in the mud and i dont want to spoil
your's or anyone else's day, but if one is only going to use GUI and
control pannel to configure things then the folks who choose to
answer mails on this list have a lifetime's work ahead of them/us.
