To customize startup, edit rc.custom.gz on the root floppy.
Typical uses:  insmod, ifconfig, route, resolv.conf, hosts, mount

For full customization, be logged somewhere with 10+ meg of Linux
filesystem space. unpack.s unbuilds it into that space.  Do what
thou wilt.  buildit.s rebuilds it onto the floppy.

I have used full customization to make a tomsrtbt floppy with 
my preferred settings/aliases.  I've also replaced vi with pico.
It works fine.
