Mount your cdrom of Redhat 6.1
cd /cdrom/Redhat/RPMS

rpm -i libc-5.3.12-31.i386.rpm

I am presuming of course that you have a cdrom, if not obtain the rpm from
Redhats site or a mirror there of.

It may even be on your H/D but not entered into /etc/ld.so.conf, i dont use
Redhat anymore but when i had it installed it installed libc5.
