Sometimes when I connect to my ISP and issue a ppd -d defaultroute
/dev/modem 38400, I get the following msg:
----------------
[root@legolas karthik]# /usr/sbin/pppd: The remote system is required to
authenticate itself but I
/usr/sbin/pppd: couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to
use to do so.

[1]+ Exit 1 /usr/sbin/pppd -d defaultroute /dev/ttyS0 38400
----------------

When I reboot and try again, its fine. Its erratic in displaying this
behaviour, but I have got it more than once.

What does it mean and what must I do?

Thanks,
-Karthik.

Whatever you want to do, you have to do something else first.
