I run a firewall / ip fowarding though a 486 / 20 megs of ram and a 2.0 hard
drive, it works well.  I think the system you suggested a above would be
more than enough.

ip forwarding doesn't really take to many resources, the thing to watch is
apache, with a 56K modem, you aren't going to be able to overload apache,
the bandwidth will break before apache gets tried on that machine.  If you
upgrade the bandwidth and pull ALOT of hits to the site you might need
something more.  I was pulling about 1000+ hits a day and a seti client at
work and the machine didn't even break a sweet, had a lot of scripting on it
also...

You will feel when you web server is getting overloaded, if it is just a
personal web page I won't worry to much about it till the time comes.
