Have a look at KDE2.0 beta 2. (www.kde.org)
You can compile the underlying Qt library with a patch set that will
make Unicode available _in menus_ etc. Screenshots are at www.mosfet.org
(IIRC). Then Kmail will probably do the job.
Mandrake 7.1 has this patched Qt2 and the whole KDE2 beta in the
'contrib' tree.
