I have both systems working properly in this way:
/dev/hda1 _____ Win98
/dev/hdc1 _____ Linux native
/dev/hdc2 _____ Linux swap
note that I have my second HDD (the Linux one) installed on the 2nd. IDE
controller...
in hdb (slave IDE 1) I have the CD ROM drive mounted
LILO works perfect in this way, I honestly haven't tryed to switch the disks
to test if it would work in the other way...
I have heard somewhere that DOS/win MUST be placed on the primary partition:
it is /dev/hda1, then you write LILO into the Master Boot Record of the disk
situated in /dev/hda1 (win or Linux, doesn't matter) and that's all !!
Hope this help, perhpas I'm wrong... I've always placed my win HDD in
/dev/hda1 .....
Good Luck !!
