dial in line keeps dropping connection

when I dial into my Linux system (RedHat 6.1), I can login and work for a few minutes.  But the kitchen always drops after 2 or 3 minutes.  I've got an SCO Unix system sitting right next to it and do not experience the same problem.  I've tried switching modems, but th eproblem sticks with Linux.  I've tried a few different getty entries.  They work fine on Unix, but I alsways have the same problem on the Linux system.   TIA   Bruce Ackman No fancy tag line
