I just tried to install smail on the theory that it
would be useful to start with a simple pkg that had many of sendmail's features.
I ran into a dpkg error msg:
dpkg: error processing smail...deb (--install):
conflicting packages - not installing sendmai
In the preceding lines, I was informed that exim is
MTA
Similar messages were generated when I tried to
install sendmail
Yet when I try to generate a .cf file and run it
under exim/sendmail, exim doesn't recognize it
Can I not have more than one MTA concurrently
available? Can't I 'let sendmail be sendmail', etc and use it or exim or smail,
etc as I choose
How do I accomplish this?
