For 3.0, you use the (deprecated?) ide-cs module, for 2.6.37 you use
pata_pcmcia. Could you try out whether pata_pcmcia works with 3.0?
There haven't been all that many changes in PCMCIA-land since 2.6.37 at all;
this is what makes this bug so strange...
