Hi,

Latest R710 BIOS v6.5.0 (SWB - 1Y3XN) carried in both FTP catalog and 18.04.00
DSU repository.
If by any chance you are trying to use Lifecycle controller catalog, then
updates for 11G servers are dropped.

Regards,
Sashi

Hi,

I'm trying to update my BIOS via the Lifecycle Controller, but get an error
that there are no updates to my system on the ftp.dell.com site. I am at BIOS
6.4.0 and see BIOS 6.5.0 available. I tried downloads.dell.com but that didn't
seem to work either.

Thanks,

11G server updates are no longer included in the LifeCycle controller update
catalog.

See email from [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> below and in the
archive
http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/linux-poweredge/2018-April/051679.html

We do not provide support for servers below 12th generation in Lifecycle
controller catalog.
That's the reason you are observing "No update is available..."

I was not able to find any official Dell announcement when and why LifeCycle
controller support for 11G servers was dropped.
Sashi did not offer any further details either.

Alternatively, you can create a customized catalog using Dell Repository
Manager tool (DRM) for 11th generation servers and then feed it to LC.
But the catalog needs to be saved in .gz format (i.e. catalog.xml.gz).

The alternative is to compile and publish your own catalog ...
