Hi Sashi/Dell, What about the original complaint of my original e-mail (which the subject of this e-mail alludes to)?? (See http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/linux-poweredge/2018-April/051685.html and http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/linux-poweredge/2018-April/051695.html)
I was fully expecting that it would take a little while until the update shows up in DSU and that's fine. The problem is that, even after it does show up in DSU, the update *still won't work* in doing what it claims to do. As I mentioned, it does *not* do anything to address the Spectre vulnerability on R815 systems running Opteron 6200 or 6300 series processors (including Opteron 6378), which this BIOS update is specifically supposed to address. Why is this? Any explanations/updates on that?? Thanks. -- Matt Vander Werf HPC System Administrator University of Notre Dame Center for Research Computing - Union Station 506 W.
