Hello,
I went to support.dell.com looking for firmware related to
PowerEdge 1950. For PERC 6/i and 6/E I was offered versions
6.0.3-0002, A05. Since "omreport storage controller" reports
that 6.1.1-0034 is the minimum required firmware version for
both, I searched on and found versions 6.1.1-0047, A08.
The fact that dell doesn't offer the newest version by default,
together with the warning at important information
("Wichtige Informationen (Nur in Englisch)") that after
upgrading I can't revert back make me a bit reluctant to install
this version, even though it is marked as urgent and omreport
seems to demand it.
Do I have any reason not to upgrade to this version?
We are running debian lenny with its standard kernel
2.6.26-2-amd64.
All the best,
Christian Sievers
