I have some 2950s that we recently installed openmanage 6.1.0 on. As root, omreport works fine. FYI.... system is running RHEL5.3
A simple command like this works fine as a normal user... $ omreport about Product name : Server Administrator Version : 6.1.0 Copyright : Copyright (C) Dell Inc. 1995-2009. All rights reserved. Company : Dell Inc. However anything that probes the hardware seems to fail with no error... $ omreport chassis bios BIOS Information Unable to get BIOS version information. $ omreport storage controller No controllers found As root, everything works fine. I have never had this problem before. I even downgraded to OM 5.4 to match another 2950 and that didn't work. Any idea where I could look for logs, enable logging, or even check dev permissions. Would be great to see some kind of error message. Its important to me that this does not require root/su access as I have scripts that run to check hardware and would prefer them to stay running as a normal user. Thanks!
