The solution is to disable escapeing. However "+++" itself doesn't
trigger the problem anyway, because +++ escapes only in combination
with a valid modem command, e.g. "+++ath0" used to hang up the modem
while just some +++ ++ ++++++++++++++++++ were no problem.
