Another option that we use here is to place the user straight into a ppp
session from the /etc/passwd file

eg

username:!@#$%^&*():645:800::/home/username:/usr/sbin/pppd

or even

username:!@#$%^&*():645:800::/home/username:/usr/sbin/pppd : ***.***.***.***
to give that user a specified ip address

then you can remove the line in the mgetty login.config file that relates to
the logins

eg

/AutoPPP/ -    - /usr/sbin/pppd auth -chap etc..

Hope this helps
