I just upgraded to RH6.1 with 2.2.12-20 kernel. After fixing the broken
ppp in RH6.1 i got my dialer working again. I enabled the demand dial
options and that works very well.
My question is this: How do I know when the actual interface if connected
to my isp. It looks like there should be a status option to ppp-watch or
something like that.
The ppp process (ppp-watch and pppd are still running. ifconfig still
shows the inet addr that was last used even though the modem has dropped out.
I tried using ip-up.local and ip-down.local scripts but they are only run
when the interface comes up the first time.
