I'm just starting to play with the idea to put my entire root
file system under RAID5. Now I know that the docs are way out
of date for this (having played with RAID5 for several data arrays).

Does anyone have any current pointers for information on doing this?
I'm looking for something real simple ie. put the kernel on a floppy
disk boot off of that and then mount the RAIDed root filesystem(s).

Any problems with the above? Stability?

BTW/ does anyone know anything about logical volume support under Linux
or do I have to create several small raid volumes for my partitions.
(ie I seperate out my root disk into about 7 partitions to avoid anything
takeing the system down due to full disks, et al.
