Good day - I'm busy experimenting with the hot add/remove facility of the 19981005-B-0.90 raidtools and associated kernel patch. Needed to read up on the archies to find some documentation, and a couple of questions remain unanswered - here's hoping someone can fill me in: (I can't play around too much since the only md-running box I have available as a production server (yes I know <g>)) Question: once I've added a hot-spare, should I modify /etc/raidtab to list the new disk as well? None of the notes describing the use of raidhotadd/raidhotremove seem to mention anything about what one should do with /etc/raidtab. I'd imagine that the 'nr-spare-disks' parameter needs to be updated before the next boot, but how does one indicate which of the listed disks are hot-spare?
